Language trip to Bournemouth

While Austria was on the edge of collapsing, we were enjoying the sunny deserted Bournemouth promenade. It was such a great experience that made our language trip feel like a real vacation, although we still had to go to language school. Until we actually saw them, we had been curious about what our host families would be like, but as soon as we met them, we immediately knew, that they were very kind and caring people. We were really flashed by the fact that ours drove a nice BMW SUV, which was very comfortable and roomy.

On the first morning we quickly noticed England’s breakfast habits, which helped explain the high obesity rate they have in their country. But the city also had a ton of international restaurants, which was surprising for us, because the city didn’t seem like having lots of high quality restaurants. For example, one night, we tried traditional Indian food, and another night, we had a succulent steak at a French restaurant called Côte.

On our day trip to London, we were super excited about all the attractions this city has to offer. We visited cool landmarks like Big Ben, the London Eye, and the beautiful St. James’s Park, which is filled with thousands of beautiful and colourful flowers. The natural beauty of England, especially the Jurassic Coast and Highcliffe Castle, but also just all the trees and plants, which are all over the city, really took our breath away.

In our free time, we found an arcade hall, made some of our funniest memories and unfortunately spent way too much money there. At the end of our trip, we were all walking along the promenade together, sitting there chatting, laughing and at the same moment witnessing one of the most stunning sunsets we had ever experienced.
